Pastor Samuel Richardson was born November 27, 1970, in Lumberton at Southeastern General Hospital to Johnny Richardson and Doris Esters. He attended Plain View Elementary until the 6th grade and went on to Tar Heel Jr. – Sr. High until graduating in 1989. He is the youngest of three children.
After graduating from Tar Heel Sr. High, Pastor Sammy attended N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro, NC with a major in Business Administration. He realized he was not ready for a higher education leaving school and eventually joining the United States Air Force Reserves in March of 1993, serving 7 years, with an honorable discharge in January 2001. Samuel served as a reservist in the 4th Civil Engineering Squadron located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC helping maintain the bases infrastructure.
Pastor Sammy holds an Associate of Arts degree from Robeson Community College in Information Systems & Networking in Lumberton NC, an Associate of Ministry Degree in Evangelism from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Fayetteville State University, in Fayetteville NC and he is currently working on his Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling From Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pastor Sammy stepped in as pastor at Second New Light MBC on 1st Sunday of April 2019 and has served diligently as Interim since. He is dedicated to improving the relationship between the church and the community and helping the community to see the need to have Yahweh in their everyday lives. Pastor Sammy’s deepest desire is to only do what God has planned for him in ministry, never allowing himself or anyone stop the love of God being shown to those in need.
